Have you ever been camping?
After 14 years I decided to camp,
Never really been outside or carried a lamp.
I was excited to roam, to finally be free,
A breath of fresh air, I’d been holding it for 3.
Almost that if catch my death
the way the cold ate up inside of me.
So off I went with all my trappings,
So much so the bag lady said I’m packing.
Thought nature would be glad to see me,
Let’s not forget the allergies,
I vetted and sneezed
And after on night I could finally see,
That that would be my last time camping.

Lest you be forgetting
All the good that’s been done,
It’s like a good father,
Not derelict or strange
A provider and protector
Who plays the long game.
So one is for my daughter,
The apple of my eye.
Two is for my son,
I love to see him shine.
Three is for my doodle
The cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
Four is for my profession
I actually live my dream
Five is for my tribe,
Who walk by my side.
